Video: Tahrir this evening, after the raid

I shot the video above in Tahrir Square just after the raid by the army and police. In it protestors say they captured an army officer — he was later released.

The podcast mentioned Islamist support for the stoning of the police , an action met with lvie bullets in the USA. I didnt see any video evidence of bearded family men throwing rocks with the french jeaned youth trying to impress their foreign friends. A nice investigative piece would be to find out who organized the tents in Tahrir and then the twitter-ed stoning response, if MB or secularists were calling for the youth to defend the tents , sadly with their lives. Based on the video evidence and the Cui Bono rationale, I predict it was the secular liberals who organized the vioelnce to thwart the elections, as now many of them r calling for a delay in response. how convenient. The fact is that the liberal secularists r a small fraction of the population in egypt, and globally, and therefore, any honest electoral counting would leave them in the cold. Their only hope is through adoption of extra-democratic principles and use of the courts. and time. If foreign money can come in and offset the grass roots opposition with some goold old fashioned madison avenue/cia/ international crisis group obama change, then they may have the chance to get a large enought piece of the parliament to arrest any indigenous movements. this way they can preserve the wb/imf , israel treaties, while perhaps getting the population gender laws in place. but whatever that neo liberal nato agenda is, its not egyptian deomcracy.

it was such a really bad day, I just cant imagine that something as cruel as that is going to happen. As you can see, it was really a big crowd, you're lucky that you were not hurt while taking the video.
