Arson and agents provocateurs in Central Cairo

I have received eyewitness reports from three people that Central Security Forces (the riot control police) are pulling out of multiple locations in Cairo. Plainclothes security has been seen at various locations pouring gasoline on vehicles and setting them on fire, also trying to burn storefronts in the following Downtown Cairo locations:

  • Falaki Square
  • Omraneya
  • Near the American University in Cairo

Earlier in the day, I received an eyewitness report from a friend in Downtown Cairo (near Champollion Street) that policemen were loading vans with clubs, nails, metal bars and other objects that could be used as weapons by Baltaguiya, the hired thugs sometimes used by police to attack protestors.

I am so proud of Egypt, I am with you heart and soul. I pray for your safety, never give up, the genie is now out of the bottle and it can't be stuffed back in. Freedom!

So Mubarak is following in the footsteps of Israel, with its illegal settler terrorism against Palestinians on the West Bank, and Iran with its Basij! And Washington loves them all...ah, no, loves two out of three.

My freedom loving friends in Egypt. Good luck and God speed at this crossroads of history. Be vigilant not to replace one tyrannical regime with another. A constitutional democracy, as messy as it may be, is the only political vehicle that will provide the framework for a free society. Avoid at all cost the allure of a theocracy. Do not replace a dictator with religious leaders who are free to decree your rights based upon their interpretation of holy texts. Consider your sons and daughters and grandchildren, and do not damn them to the vigilante justice that is Sharia Law. Egypt is a great society. Our thoughts and prayers are with the sons and daughters of Egypt.

Being a Pakistani and having gone through various regimes one worse than other and a musical chair game where nothing really changes, my heart is with the Egyptian people. Please don't stop now as you are almost there. There is nothing better than democracy as it is meant to be government of the people for the people by the people. God speed

I don't know if anyone will answer this but...

How do the revolutionaries seem to feel about the united states?
