Keller on the Iran war hawks

Iran A very good answer to the repartee to the Iran war hawks by Bill Keller of the NYT, in this article and this blog post. Good to see this from a major figure of the NYT during the Iraq war, even if the NYT has recently misreported the state of Iran's nuclear program.

If there is anything annoying me a lot more than the permanent war clouds against Iran, than it is the constant underestimation of
1. The Iranian military, technological and economic capabilities (don't tell me you have not been surprised by the hacking of the Lockhee-Martin RQ 170)
2. The Iranian Influence in the region (in cases where there is no understimation, than there is an exaggeration and a portrayal of Iran as the super-evil)
3. The Iran's evaluation of the region's development. Noone has made more precise prediction about the developments of the Arab world as Iran did. And Iran's influence is not shrinking, it is raising (a very recommendable article on Fair Observer: http://www.fairobserver.com/article/arab-spring-has-iran-passed-its-peak-power-middle-east)
