Podcast: Back to Tahrir
After the last two days' exceptional events in Tahrir Square, Egypt seems to teeter on the brink of another revolution or political chaos. We discuss the recent violence and the scenarios the country faces: more violence and authoritarianism from SCAF, or a new political direction for the transition. Or will Egypt judt muddle through again — if it can?

This is the first time I hear the Arabist podcast and I enjoyed very much. Keep it up :-) Does the podcast come out on a regular basis?
Yes, you can subscribe on iTunes and listen to past ones here: http://www.arabist.net/podcast/
PLEASE post transcripts. Please. I can't listen to these at work.
I liked your video of you walking through downtown after the riot the other day.
How about putting the podcast in video form too?
Maybe have someone film you guys at some cool location in Cairo with a "Cairoesque backdrop."
On top of Hotel Edion with the downtown high rises in the background? In a crowded Cairo cafe? Somewhere along the corniche .....
For transcripts we need volunteers - any takers?
"slightoly bitchy" as a description of scaf was funny. But I get no sense the podcast has any clue about the egypt outside the activist international crisis group npr clique, Nor an historical memory of secular neo liberal atrocities as an explanation of MB's appeal. Maybe add some real egyptians more typical of the mainstream into the discussion, so it doesnt sound like an episode of friends (m slightly bitchy 2 cents )
I'd be happy to volunteer to transcribe this one. Let me know.
please do akkadia - thanks!
Bilal - episode of Friends, that's funny. We are what we are — I'd be happy to help "real Egyptians" (who presumably want to podcast in Arabic) who want to do their own podcast (contact me).
sure. my schedule is wide open at the moment so i should have it done in the next 24 hours.
