flotilla You absolutely must read Roger Cohen's op-ed taking the US media to task for almost completely ignoring that Israel murdered an American citizen during the flotilla raid.
I'll just quote his conclusion to the question raised by Dogan's father: whether, had his son been Christian living in America, he would have faced the same silence.
It’s different, however, when an American Muslim male gets stuck in a hail of Israeli gunfire.

thanks for pointing to that.
Read this one too - if you're an American Jewish activist and you lose an eye to the Israeli forces, the ambassador comes to your home!

Yes, thank God for Roger Cohen, a (Jewish?) voice of reason on the Middle East in the major US newspaper!
Things are changing, slowly, very slowly, in terms of US public opinion. A greater number of people are more
aware of why US foreign policy has been so pro Israel (the Israeli Lobby in US), and what affect this has had
on our country (9/11) etc.
Thanks to people like Roger Cohen and others more Americans are becoming aware, as the rest of the world has been for awhile, of Israeli injustices.
The question is: Will it ever, ever affect anything?
At exactly the time there is a subtle shifting of feeling and opinion in the US, among Jews as well as non Jews, and world opinion may be clearer than ever that there has to be a just solution (a Palistinian state, international Jerusalem, and rights or compensation for victims),
Israel is continuing to take MORE, and more land.
Their continuing to take land through settlements in East Jerusalem violates International Law, and any
the consenses of the entire world, even the US; but they just keep doing it. Moving out families every day.
