Column - Bullies can't be bribed

My latest column at al-Masri al-Youm is up — it's about the US-Israel "90-day deal" and the bad habit of rewarding Israel's behavior.

It's kind of amazing that you can continue to describe Israel as the "bully" in this scenario when 60% of the "victims" happily state that they see a peace deal as simply a precursor for Israel's destruction:

Real peace will only come when the Arab street - from intellectuals like yourself on down - begin to understand that there is actually some complexity to the ridiculously black and white picture you continue to promote.

I know, geez Issandr, you're like all those black people in South Africa who wanted to see the destruction of Apartheid South Africa or those blacks in the south who wanted to see the destruction of Jim Crow. Matthew on the other hand really gets the important point, that the Arab Street - from intellectuals like yourself on down - needs to learn to shut up and accept Palestinian enslavement by Israel with a smile.
