Obama’s visit is dividing Egyptians - The National Newspaper

Obama’s visit is dividing Egyptians - The National Newspaper
“We can’t deny our shock from Obama’s planned visit to Egypt,” said Abdel Halim Qandil, the spokesman for Kefaya, an opposition group. “When he comes to Cairo, he will be Mubarak’s, not the Egyptian people’s, guest. This visit will have a negative impact on Obama’s image, who is popular in Egypt.” But some other quotes in there are supportive.

I do believe that the visit is due the urgent Egyptian administration need for one. Obama will never think of visiting Egypt unless Egypt wants him to do so. The Egyptian administration want to make up for the previous negligence of push administration .the question here is what are the gains and the losses. I do believe that the people of Cairo will suffer definite losses. They will not go to work that day and I do believe that the whole economy will lose. I am not sure about the political gains. I think if the Saudis’ asked for a visit, Obama will be there the following day. It is just that the Saudis don’t feel the importance of the visit. They already know that they have oil and that they don’t want to assure their importance in the region. For example, I already will lose 1000 le tomorrow for not going work tomorrow. Will the Egyptian government compensate me .or will Obama do so?
