Mega-Shia conspiracy

It's been reported today that a group of Egyptians, Israeli Arabs, Palestinians, and Lebanese have arrested in Egypt for belonging to a smuggling ring to Gaza, while Israel alleges they could be a threat to Israeli vacationers in Sinai. So this story involves Hamas, Hizbullah, Iran vs. Israel and Egypt, as well as attempts to spread Shiism in Egypt.

Needless to say, I am skeptical.

Last year the authorities in Morocco broke up an alleged terrorist network that also had elements of a mega-Shia conspiracy to it; amongst those arrested were a journalist for al-Manar and members of a non-violent, left-leaning Islamist party that was rumoured to have Shia sympathies (which didn't really make a lot of sense), plus an allegedly Shia Belgian Moroccan gangster. Then the other week there were reports of a crackdwon on Moroccan Shia groups (all none of them).

Have paranoid anti-Shias taken charge of the security forces in the Sunni world?
