Jerusalem Post fabrications

Charles has a report on how the Jerusalem Post is trying to pass off a video of a Yazidi girl being beaten in Iraq as an honor crime by Hamas. The reporter behind the "story," Khaled Abu Toameh, is known for his biased reporting.

The article is taken down and retracted:

http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1189411518043&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

"...thanks to the awareness of readers and bloggers, who responded to an article on the video that was later removed from the Post's Web site on Saturday night, the Post did not carry the article in Sunday's paper..."

I am glad, at least, the video is not new.

speaking of bias....

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=908055&contrassID=1&subContrassID=1

"The president of the United Nations Human Rights Council conceded on Saturday that the organization had failed in its handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

Shocking.

Anna, this is not a newspaper, it's a blog and thus contains opinion. I write for newspapers and can exercise professionalism and hold an opinion at the same time -- and I certainly do not make shit up. So your comment is moronic.

Issandr,

There's no need to entertain her comment. I certainly would be equally pissed if someone wrote such a thing on my blog, but as you pointed out, her comment is well...misplaced.

Keep up the good work.

Khaled Abu Toameh? He's on the "Israel Project"'s list of "experts"... see here: http://www.blog.ma/obiterdicta/index.php?The_Israel_Project_is_Hiring....html&id_article=15263 ... But I doubt that Abu Toameh can measure up to the other "expert" listed at the "Israel Project", Walid Shoebat (yes, it does sound bizarre, but that's how he spells it...).
