Guardian piece on Egyptian bloggers

I had this opinion piece on the Guardian's Comment is Free site about Arab and Egyptian bloggers and how they might face the ongoing security clampdown. Got so busy yesterday with work forgot to post it here! (Sorry for the slow posting these days...)

I just wanted to note, if any Egyptian bloggers feel slighted by not being mentioned, I wanted to focus on a few cases and, as much as possible, ones that could be read by non-Arabic speakers. In any case, the comments on the piece are very interesting (well, aside from the ones about Israel.)

In contrary to many bloggers, I felt humiliated by the word genius you used to describe me.

this is too much ya 3am, I'm just a checken who couldn't overcome his fears and could find a refuge in satire and virtual identity.

real genius bloggers are those who pushed me to invite for the parallel wedding and who made all possible efforts to make it on the agenda of many fellows.

I have to mention Asad, Nawara, Cesar, Sharkawi, Gemyhood, Seferel Asfar, Hamalawi, and many others who day after day prove that egypt is going to witness a different genius generation who will bring democracy in.

thank you for the praise I don't see I desirve. please focus on these wonderful real news makers of Egyptian blogsphere and popular media.

regards
Gamal
