A description of his course:

MPP 668.01 Seminar in International Relations: Islam and Politics
Daniel Pipes
International Relations
Islam stands at the center of the U.S. national debate, presenting difficult and delicate
questions that all politically aware Americans, from the president to television producers to
police superintendents, need to contend with. This seminar examines some of the key issues
concerning the unique relationship between the Islamic faith and the public sphere, including
the role of Islamic law, the concept of jihad, the Islamist movement, several key countries,
Islam in the West, and U.S. government policy.
