Response to Lebanon pics

Since I posted a few days ago a set of pictures from Lebanon on Flickr, more than 40 people have added me as a contact, three publications have written to ask to publish them, and it got mentioned on Boing Boing, one of the most-read geek-hip sites (one I read daily, actually).

So if you haven't taken a look at them yet -- sorry, they're graphic but they show the truth you won't see on your TV set -- do so now.

Fighting Hizbullah is one thing. No Lebanese, not even Hizbullah supporters, expects Israel NOT to fight Hizbullah.

Devastating the infrastructure of the country and killing hundreds of civilians does Israel no good.

In my home village there are hundreds of refugees from elsewhere, and water supplies are critically low. They can survive without food or medicine - the sick and elderly may not but that's life - but without water there will be many more deaths.

It's indiscriminate killing. My village is vehemently anti-Hizbullah, but since we are all Arabic speakers, we all deserve to die, I guess. One thing is for sure, the snobby Christians of Lebanon have woken up and realized that Israel will kill Christians as well as Muslims if they can get away with it.

I hope for all of us that one day Israel, America and Lebanon will be led by sane statesmen but for now the people are suffering for the venality of thier leaders.

Israel is NOT interested in killing ANYONE!
with over 3000 sorties and 300 civilian deaths shows just how picky Israel at NOT targetting civilians. Hezbullah claims only 4 Hizbullah fighters were killed. That is a lie. I guess that the 300 include numerous Hezbullah militants.
Of course all life lost is a tragedy.
I have a few questions though. Why does Hezbullah fire on Israel from residential areas and to residential areas? why do they hide among civilians? Why do you tolerate them? How many civilian lives would have been spared if Hezbullah had NOT attacked from residential areas???
