"The big lie about the Middle East"

Lisa Beyer of Time magazine (possibly the worst magazine on earth? I find the Egyptian Gazette more edifying) really is an idiot. She says Arabs don't care about Palestinians and saying they do is A Bad Thing. Even if that were true, the bigger problem with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not the threat to Palestinians that Israel represents, but the threat to its neighbors and the region it represents. In this article she does a hatchet job on Baker-Hamilton for the sake of extreme-right American supporters of Israel. Sickening.

I think she underplays Arab moral support for the Palestinian cause, but generally, I kinda liked it.

Ah I found a link. Is this what you mean by arab moral support ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hama_massacre

or do you mean this ?

http://hrw.org/english/docs/2006/09/10/iraq14156.htm

or is it this that you mean ?

I for one, would not want to be ever be the recipient of "arab moral support". It seems to kill a LOT more people than it helps.

(why is it that looking for massacre on the internet invariably returns ... let's say ... results that seem to agree on religion)

For me the article is rather ok. Check for example Al Assad's speeches. Does not matter if the topic is science, education, employment, the israeli aggression is always the main point. i just dont understand how the people can not get tired of it.

I meant public opinion, not governmental support.

To be fully fair, what other countries have taken serious, non-rhetorical action to aid the Palestinians?

Although I am sure "Arabs" care about the issue, be honest: it gets bandied about as an excuse quite a bit.
