Tuesday: Protest trade unionist sacking

Activists are calling for a demonstration in front of the HQ of the state-controlled Egyptian Federation of Trade Unions, to protest the sacking of trade unionist Aisha Abdel Aziz, Tuesday, 11 September, 5:30pm.

The demonstration is sponsored by the Center For Socialist Studies, Afaq Socialist Center, the Workers' Coordination Committee, the Workers' Solidarity Committee, Workers For Change and Kefaya. The Federation is located at 90 Galaa St., Ramses.

hagga 3echa was able to gather all the workers and to encourage them to voice out their demands.she constituted a real threat for the owners of the company and the trade union..hagga 3echa knew that sooner or later they will dismiss her but never stopped her on the contrary it encouraged her to go forward in her demands...
i wish to be there now to fight for her return.it's more than a duty for all of us..it's an obligation...

Aisha is indeed one example of the tens of thousands of women workers who have been playing a central brave role in the current wave of strikes... Extending solidarity to her in such moment is crucial, so as not to let her feel she's alone in her fight..
